On March 10, 2026, Amazon made its Health AI assistant accessible to every U.S. customer, integrating the feature directly into Amazon.com and its mobile application. Until this launch, only paying One Medical app subscribers could access the technology.
The deployment follows a phased approach. According to Amazon’s announcement, availability will continue expanding throughout the upcoming weeks until complete nationwide coverage is achieved.
Neither a Prime subscription nor One Medical membership is required for basic access. The core functionality comes at no cost.
The Health AI platform addresses inquiries about symptoms and pharmaceuticals, interprets laboratory results and medical documentation, and assists with prescription refill management. Additionally, it facilitates appointment scheduling and establishes connections with One Medical healthcare professionals through messaging, video conferencing, or face-to-face consultations.
Customers can authorize the assistant to retrieve their personal medical information, encompassing clinical documentation, diagnostic records, and laboratory findings, via the Health Information Exchange. The system can also incorporate relevant Amazon purchase data, such as blood pressure monitoring devices or nutritional supplements.
Prime Members Receive Additional Benefits
Qualifying U.S. Prime subscribers obtain up to five complimentary direct-message healthcare consultations with One Medical practitioners, addressing more than 30 medical conditions. These encompass respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, allergic reactions, gastroesophageal reflux, erectile dysfunction, and dermatological concerns. Amazon estimates this benefit at approximately $145 in value.
These consultations are shareable among household members via Amazon Family. Both Prime for Young Adults and Prime Access subscribers are also eligible.
Beyond the introductory promotion, individual provider consultations cost $29 through One Medical Pay-per-visit. A complete One Medical annual membership costs Prime subscribers $99, reduced from the standard $199 rate.
Technical Infrastructure and Architecture
The Health AI platform operates on Amazon Bedrock infrastructure. Its architecture employs a multi-agent framework — a primary agent manages patient interactions, while specialized sub-agents execute particular functions such as prescription handling or appointment coordination. Monitoring agents conduct real-time oversight of all exchanges and can elevate cases to human medical professionals when circumstances warrant.
Amazon reports developing the platform collaboratively with clinical leadership from One Medical. Prior to public release, the medical team conducted extensive testing using numerous simulated conversations that evaluated safety protocols, emergency response capabilities, and regulatory compliance. The company maintains that Health AI must achieve or surpass clinician-level performance standards on safety-critical determinations before deployment.
All user interactions occur within a HIPAA-compliant framework. Amazon states it does not utilize protected health information for broader advertising purposes or commercialize customer data.
The assistant is not engineered to independently diagnose conditions or formulate treatment protocols. When situations prove complex or demand professional medical judgment, it directs users to healthcare providers.
Amazon One Medical maintains collaborative partnerships with Rush University System for Health and Cleveland Clinic for specialized care referrals.
Health AI initially debuted in January 2026 as an exclusive feature for One Medical members, generating favorable feedback from both patients and medical professionals, according to Amazon’s reports.
