On Saturday June 16th 2018, CryptoFriends celebrated its first birthday in style on the Blockchain Island of Malta by throwing a Crypto iGathering rooftop pool party at an exclusive hotel in the town of St Julian’s.

CryptoFriends partnered with the Malta Blockchain Summit, representatives from Sigma iGaming Malta and ICOBench to bring together a selection of blockchain heavyweights, companies, industry experts and investors for an informative and fun packed day out at the pool.
Opening introductions on the day were made by Daria Arefieva, Founder and CEO of CryptoFriends and Eman Pulis, Founder of the Malta Blockchain Summit. These introductions were followed by a live discussion on the future of blockchain and cryptocurrency, between Miko Matsumara, Founder of Evercoin, and the guest of honour, Olaf Carlson-Wee, Founder of Polychain Capital.

Pitches were later made by these 5 top rate ICO projects:
- Clear Protocol – a decentralised RNG gaming protocol on blockchain.
- Fanfare – a blockchain powered social commerce marketplace.

- Betonchart – a blockchain based sports betting platform.

After the ICO pitches, guests gathered to view an art exhibition put on by the ICONIC Digital Show, who displayed 12 pieces of artwork inspired by the concept of blockchain technology. Guests then indulged in an afternoon of networking on the rooftop pool of Infinity by Hugos, which was sponsored by HiPay and Aliquantum.

The CryptoFriends team stayed on in Malta and attended an exclusive yacht party on June 17th organised by EXANTE. The party included guests from several relevant blockchain tech companies such as, Taurus Vision, Hosho and Clear Protocol.

The activities of CryptoFriends on the “Blockchain Island” have just begun. The organisation has 2 more upcoming iGatherings in Malta, one on August 24th, and another on September 21st 2018.
