The Demo account competition started on 8th August, while the Real account competition started on 23rd August and ended at 11:59pm (Singapore time) on 5th September 2019. The top prizes for these events – consisting of both Individual and Team events – ranged from 5,000 to 100,000 USDT per winner.
The Team Event saw a huge influx of participants from all corners of the globe. There are currently 78 teams from China, South Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Canada, Russia, Indonesia, Philippines, India, Thailand, Turkey, Venezuela, and Japan – with the biggest group having 299 members in one team from China.
Dozens of traders in the Real competition category – in both individual and team contests – managed to record return-on-equity (ROE) in double digits, while also receiving cash prizes in USDT.
At the peak of trading activity during the competition period, SnapEx saw an increase of more than 100x in users. It also proved to be a fruitful period as the cryptocurrency markets were highly volatile, which led to huge profits to many traders competing for top prizes in WTGP.
SnapEx also reduced its transaction fees permanently to a competitive 1.5% during the period of the competition – comparable to other large crypto margin trading platforms in the market.
The world’s largest crypto contract trading competition ended on a high note, officially closing with the distribution of more than half a million USDT in prize money to all the winning parties.
WTGP was the first trading tournament organized by SnapEx, a brand new entry to the market of contract trading platforms. But it will not be the last, as the team has already begun planning for the next series of trading competitions in the near future.
