Alphabet is preparing to execute a substantial debt offering in capital markets. The technology giant aims to secure up to $25 billion through a comprehensive ten-part bond issuance, with final pricing anticipated today. The structure encompasses maturity dates ranging from two years to four decades and features both fixed-rate and floating-rate instruments.
GOOGL shares commenced trading at $362.43 on Thursday. The corporation maintains a market capitalization of $4.43 trillion alongside a price-to-earnings multiple of 18.20. Trading has occurred within a 52-week band of $193.67 to $408.61.
While turning to debt financing may seem unusual for an enterprise with substantial cash holdings, Alphabet is executing one of technology’s most ambitious infrastructure expansions. The company elevated its 2026 capital investment projection to a range of $195 billion to $205 billion during its second-quarter financial disclosure.
These funds are being directed toward data center construction, server infrastructure expansion, and semiconductor technology essential for operating its Gemini artificial intelligence platforms and Google Cloud offerings.
The debt issuance features ten separate tranches designed to attract diverse institutional fixed-income investors. Near-term two-year securities are being marketed at approximately 60 basis points above comparable U.S. Treasury yields. The longest-dated 40-year tranche, with an August 2066 maturity, is being discussed at roughly 155 basis points over benchmark Treasuries.
The securities will be registered with the SEC as senior unsecured obligations and are anticipated to receive Aa2/AA+ credit assessments.
Bank of America, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, and Wells Fargo have been designated as joint bookrunners managing the transaction.
