Super Micro announced fiscal 2027 revenue expectations ranging from $65 billion to $72 billion, significantly surpassing the Street’s $52.5 billion estimate. The announcement propelled Super Micro’s stock upward by over 14%, creating a halo effect that benefited Dell, which is similarly positioned to capitalize on enterprise AI infrastructure investments.
Dell was already riding positive momentum heading into Wednesday’s trading. The shares had finished the previous session at $440.97, meaning Wednesday’s rally contributed approximately $44 per share in market value.
The underlying fundamentals support the enthusiastic market response. Dell began its current fiscal period with an impressive $43 billion backlog of AI-optimized server commitments. This substantial figure underscores that customer demand remains robust and shows no signs of decelerating.
Exceptional Quarterly Performance Fuels Optimism
Dell’s latest quarterly report provided substantial validation for bullish investors. The company generated $43.84 billion in revenue, representing an 87.5% increase versus the comparable year-ago period. This performance significantly exceeded Wall Street’s $35.74 billion revenue projection.
Earnings per share reached $4.86, surpassing the $2.96 analyst consensus by a substantial $1.90 margin. AI server sales alone experienced an explosive 757% quarterly increase, a figure that commanded significant investor attention.
Management has established full fiscal 2027 EPS guidance at $17.90 and Q2 2027 EPS guidance at $4.80. These targets compare favorably with the current analyst consensus of $17.77 for the full fiscal year.
