Greenlane Holdings concluded its second fiscal quarter with a BERA token treasury carrying a $16.4 million fair market value. With acquisition costs totaling $70 million, the digital asset portfolio registered approximately 76.6% depreciation below purchase price. The sharp token price decline generated substantial quarterly losses for the publicly traded corporation.
Second Quarter BERA Portfolio Registers Substantial Impairment
Greenlane maintained a position of 81.3 million BERA and BERA-equivalent tokens as of June 30, based on company disclosures filed with regulators. The cryptocurrency treasury exhibited a $53.8 million disparity between current market valuation and aggregate purchase costs. This substantial gap demonstrates the significant deterioration in Berachain’s blockchain token throughout early 2026.
The company documented $19.1 million in noncash impairment charges related to digital asset fair value adjustments during the reporting period. This contributed to an overall net deficit of $24.8 million across the three-month timeframe. The cryptocurrency treasury position continued representing the primary driver behind quarterly financial results.
Nevertheless, digital asset activities generated modest income streams during the period. Staking rewards and additional yield-generating protocols within the Berachain network produced $309,000 in segment revenue. These earnings offered minimal offset against the substantial market value deterioration affecting the token holdings.
Token Position Growth Continues Amid Market Weakness
The company expanded its cryptocurrency holdings throughout the second quarter even as market conditions remained unfavorable. Token balances increased from 77.7 million units at March quarter-end to 81.3 million units by June conclusion. The BERA treasury therefore accumulated approximately 3.6 million additional BERA and related tokens during the period.
Greenlane designated BERA tokens as its primary treasury reserve strategy during October 2025. The initiative received funding through a private capital raise generating approximately $110.7 million in proceeds. These resources supported secondary market acquisitions, direct token purchases, staking infrastructure, and various Berachain ecosystem participation.
This strategic pivot represented a fundamental departure from the company’s historical business model centered on cannabis-related accessories and consumer merchandise. Management created BeraStrategy as a dedicated entity for overseeing expanding cryptocurrency operations. The digital asset treasury has subsequently emerged as the dominant component affecting corporate balance sheets and financial outcomes.
Token Price Deterioration Challenges Treasury Strategy
BERA exchanged around $0.146 following pronounced depreciation throughout 2026. The cryptocurrency previously commanded prices exceeding $1.20 before collapsing toward current $0.15 levels. Consequently, the treasury portfolio sustained major value erosion despite aggregate token quantity increases.
The token experienced extreme price volatility during February amid unusual dynamics within perpetual futures trading venues. BERA briefly spiked to $1.43 as leveraged short positions faced forced liquidations and derivatives trading volume surged. The rally proved temporary, however, with the token resuming its extended downward trajectory.
Greenlane maintains various blockchain participation strategies including validator node operations, staking protocols, and liquidity provision to generate supplementary token rewards. These mechanisms can expand total token holdings regardless of price movements. The treasury portfolio nevertheless faces ongoing exposure to additional price fluctuations and changing network incentive structures.
