Nvidia increased its passive Nebius stake, sending NBIS stock sharply higher before Tuesday’s market open. The regulatory filing strengthened demand, but the shares remained below the important $200 level. NBIS stock now faces a defined breakout test after recovering from recent technical support.
Nvidia Expands Its Passive Nebius Position
Nvidia disclosed beneficial ownership of about 22.25 million Nebius Class A ordinary shares. The holding represents a 9.3% passive stake in the artificial intelligence cloud infrastructure provider. The disclosure appeared in a Schedule 13G filing submitted to United States regulators.
The position includes about 1.19 million shares that Nvidia holds directly. It also covers roughly 21.07 million shares linked to pre-funded warrants. Those warrant-backed shares reportedly remain subject to restrictions until September 11, 2026.
Nvidia’s updated position includes the $2 billion investment commitment announced in March. At that time, its estimated ownership position stood near 8.3%. The larger disclosed stake helped NBIS shares extend its recovery after two consecutive market gains.
NBIS Stock Gains Support From Financing and Institutions
Nebius shares closed Monday at $182.62 after rising 2.76% during regular trading. They then advanced another 6.61% to $194.70 before Tuesday’s opening bell. That premarket move pushed NBIS stock nearer to the closely followed $200 resistance area.
Freedom Capital upgraded Nebius from “Hold” to “Buy” and raised its target. The firm increased its price objective from $159 to $200 per share. That target implied more than 9% upside from Monday’s official closing price.
Nebius also secured $775 million through a senior-secured debt financing facility. GPU equipment and contracted cash flows from an investment-grade customer support the financing. Meanwhile, Situational Awareness disclosed a 5.6% Nebius stake and made NBIS stock a major holding.
Technical Levels Define the Next Move
The daily chart showed NBIS shares rebounding from established support near $165. NBIS stock reached about $195.50, while buyers pushed the session high toward $198.86. However, NBIS stock still traded below the psychological $200 barrier during the latest market move.
The Relative Strength Index rose to 44.46 and crossed above its 40.63 signal average. Meanwhile, MACD remained negative, although its shrinking red histogram showed weaker bearish momentum. These readings showed improving short-term conditions without confirming a wider trend reversal.
NBIS stock needs a daily close above $200 to support a move toward $220. A rejection around that level could return attention to support near $180 and $165. The latest NBIS shares recovery therefore depends on whether buyers can secure a confirmed $200 breakout.
