Shares of Oracle (ORCL) finished Wednesday’s trading session at $148.87, advancing 2.84% while broader indices remained under pressure. The S&P 500 edged down 0.02% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.21%.
The upward momentum followed an announcement from Citigroup analyst Tyler Radke, who added the software giant to a 90-day positive catalyst watch list. Radke maintained his Buy stance with a $330 price objective, representing potential gains of approximately 122% from Wednesday’s closing price.
According to Radke’s assessment, the recent share price weakness exceeded rational levels. He identified investor capitulation and technical factors—including pressures related to credit spreads and at-the-market equity offerings—as primary contributors to the downturn.
However, Citi believes the fundamental outlook is strengthening. The firm highlighted accelerating artificial intelligence demand and favorable trends for margins and pricing throughout the cloud infrastructure sector.
Currently, Oracle trades 56.94% beneath its 52-week peak of $345.72, reached on September 10th. This substantial discount has prompted several analysts to reassess the risk-reward equation more favorably.
Positive Messaging at Deutsche Bank Event
During Wednesday’s proceedings, Oracle presented at the Deutsche Bank Technology Conference. Management emphasized that its cloud infrastructure platform is generating tangible outcomes for major enterprise customers.
These remarks helped alleviate investor worries regarding Oracle’s substantial debt obligations, incurred to construct AI infrastructure for strategic partners such as Microsoft and OpenAI.
Citigroup observed that robust AI-driven demand patterns could trigger upward analyst estimate revisions before Oracle releases earnings and hosts its investor day in late October.
