US spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded $2.65 billion in net inflows in September. It was their second-largest monthly inflow since October 2025.
The figures come from SoSoValue data. They show steady demand from investors who buy bitcoin exposure through these funds.
September’s total was lower than August, when bitcoin ETFs drew $3.52 billion. Even so, the September figure stayed well above levels seen through most of the past year.
Ether ETFs and Early October Flows
Spot ether ETFs also brought in money last month. They drew $832.43 million in net inflows in September.
That was down from $1.85 billion in August. Still, the September total was the second-largest monthly inflow for ether ETFs since August 2025.
The first day of October brought different results for the two groups. Bitcoin ETFs added $102.7 million in net inflows.
Ether ETFs went the other way. They saw $55.4 million in net outflows on the same day.
Analyst Says Demand Has Not Faded
Dominick John, an analyst at Zeus Research, told The Block that the ETF inflows suggest institutional demand “has not faded.” He said the flows point to a more sustained recovery.
“With the Q4 bottom seemingly established, continued ETF inflows also signal improving market sentiment and a potentially more bullish setup heading into the final quarter,” John said.
The Crypto Fear & Greed Index stood at 69, which is in the greed range. John said this suggests “sentiment has strengthened without reaching extreme levels.”
John said traders will keep watching ETF flows for signs of lasting institutional demand. They will also follow key US economic data.
“The Oct. 8 jobless claims report will offer another read on the U.S. labor market, while inflation data and Fed commentary could shift rate expectations,” he said.
The jobless claims report is scheduled for Thursday, October 8. Inflation figures and comments from Federal Reserve officials are also on traders’ radar.
