On April 22, Broadcom (AVGO) and Google Cloud (GOOGL) announced a strengthened alliance that integrates Broadcom’s AppNeta platform into Google Cloud’s freshly launched Cloud Network Insights offering.
Google Cloud developed Cloud Network Insights as a native solution tailored specifically for its client ecosystem. The platform leverages AppNeta’s sophisticated monitoring infrastructure to deliver enhanced visibility into application performance throughout decentralized computing environments.
This solution addresses a critical challenge facing modern IT operations. With enterprise workloads distributed across various cloud platforms, internal data centers, and Software-as-a-Service applications, conventional monitoring systems often fail to provide comprehensive visibility beyond customer-controlled network boundaries.
Cloud Network Insights bridges this observability gap through three primary capabilities. The first component delivers network experience monitoring with complete path visualization. The second provides application and agent performance tracking across both traditional infrastructure and cloud platforms. The third component includes diagnostic functionality aimed at accelerating root cause analysis to determine whether issues stem from network or application layers.
AppNeta’s Technology Foundation
AppNeta represents Broadcom’s specialized solution for monitoring end-user experiences in cloud-native and SaaS environments. The platform equips operations teams with comprehensive insights into both network infrastructure and application performance in complex, distributed architectures.
Broadcom deploys AppNeta within its own infrastructure to monitor data flows across its hybrid application landscape. This internal deployment experience has directly influenced the capabilities integrated into the Cloud Network Insights product.
Rob Enns, who leads Cloud Networking as VP and General Manager at Google Cloud, emphasized that incorporating AppNeta’s observability capabilities enables customers to “proactively optimize agent, application, and network experiences and rapidly pinpoint network bottlenecks.”
Serge Lucio, serving as VP and General Manager of Broadcom’s Agile Operations Division, highlighted how this partnership enhances monitoring effectiveness for Google Cloud customers managing distributed infrastructure.
Addressing Enterprise Multi-Cloud Complexity
Today’s enterprise technology landscapes are increasingly fragmented. Organizations operate workloads across multiple public cloud providers, on-premises facilities, and an expanding array of SaaS platforms. Achieving unified visibility across this infrastructure has remained a significant operational challenge.
Cloud Network Insights addresses this complexity by consolidating network performance data for applications spanning distributed cloud environments. The platform delivers observability across the entire infrastructure stack, extending beyond Google Cloud’s directly managed components.
Alan Davidson, serving as Broadcom’s Chief Information Officer, emphasized that the company utilizes AppNeta internally to help IT operations teams quickly differentiate between network-related and application-related performance issues — a distinction that becomes increasingly difficult as infrastructure complexity escalates.
On the announcement date, Broadcom’s AVGO stock gained 0.91%. Google’s GOOGL shares climbed 1.38%.
Cloud Network Insights, powered by Broadcom’s AppNeta technology, is currently accessible to organizations through the Google Cloud platform.
