Shares of Edible Garden (EDBL) climbed 28.34% Monday following the company’s announcement of a supply partnership expansion with retail giant Walmart (WMT).
Edible Garden AG Incorporated, EDBL
During premarket hours, EDBL had surged as high as 144.9% before settling down by the regular session’s opening bell.
Under this partnership, Edible Garden’s high-quality fresh cut herbs will be available across Walmart locations in the Mid-Atlantic, significantly expanding the company’s consumer reach.
Chief Executive Jim Kras highlighted that this expansion “validates our differentiated business model” and demonstrates the company’s commitment to strengthening relationships with prominent national retail chains.
Initial product deliveries under this arrangement are anticipated to launch during Q3 2026.
To support this broader distribution network, Edible Garden will utilize its GreenThumb 2.0 software system. This proprietary technology employs advanced data analytics and precision farming techniques to enhance growing environments and streamline operations.
The company emphasized that this partnership aligns with its Zero-Waste Inspired approach, featuring cultivation methods aimed at minimizing waste and maximizing resource efficiency.
Implications of the Walmart Partnership for EDBL
Currently, Edible Garden’s product line reaches more than 6,000 retail outlets spanning the United States, Caribbean, and South American markets.
This Mid-Atlantic Walmart agreement enhances that existing distribution network and represents part of a larger initiative to strengthen ties with established retail collaborators rather than solely pursuing new partnerships.
Kras characterized the development as “another meaningful step in executing our long-term growth strategy.”
Monday’s trading volume reached approximately 18.5 million shares, falling short of the company’s three-month daily average of around 37.9 million. While the stock experienced significant price movement, overall market engagement remained comparatively subdued.
Current Position of EDBL Stock
Monday’s surge provides minimal relief from an otherwise challenging period for shareholders. EDBL continues to trade down 98.85% year-to-date and has declined 99.72% over the trailing twelve months.
The stock trades at penny stock levels, and Wall Street coverage remains sparse.
Maxim Group analyst Anthony Vendetti maintains the sole active rating on EDBL—a Buy recommendation—although no specific price target has been published.
The consensus rating stands at Moderate Buy, derived from that single assessment issued within the past three months.
Additionally, Edible Garden’s GreenThumb 2.0 system is being deployed to facilitate additional expansion initiatives, including the company’s ongoing transformation of its Prairie Hills facility in Iowa into a production center for ready-to-drink nutritional beverages.
