London – 6th of March 2018 – Blockchain startup Plutus.it (“Plutus”) has debuted live currency on their platform for the first time at Finovate Europe at the ExCeL, which showcases cutting-edge banking and financial technology in a unique demo-only format. PLU will be the first coin to be accepted on the app in the live currency BETA phase.
Please Note: This is a Press Release
Plutus delivers a globally-accepted pre-paid card enabling users to spend their crypto in a multi-currency format. Customers are able to make purchases online, using the Tap & Pay app for Android as well as the physical debit card. A Plutus pre-paid balance can be charged using digital currencies such as Pluton, Bitcoin, and Ethereum.
You can load a balance as soon as the app is installed, after which members are required to upload proof of identity documents via our KYC engine. Initially, Plutus will only be available in Europe before expanding progressively to further countries and continents.
For members who do not have a digital currency balance yet, Plutus also offers the PlutusDEX, a decentralized gateway for purchasing Pluton, Bitcoin, and Ethereum with 0% fees. This makes it possible to purchase a balance from other members directly.
A core philosophy of Plutus is to be at the forefront of all security and product innovations, including the use of pre-paid balances instead of credit-based or pull-based systems. Cards can be locked and reissued securely, and multi-factor authentication is a central component of both Tap & Pay and the PlutusDEX.
Recently the technology has undergone a successful private BETA, and numerous new developments. The Plutus team has expanded to 13 members, with additional hires in the last fee months being:
- Peter Panayi – Head of Marketing
- Kemal Smaylov – Senior Software Engineer
- Roman Suleymanov – QA Engineer
- Anton Golovanov – Technical Customer Support
Plutus.it (“Plutus”) is a blockchain company successfully funded in 2016, dedicated to bringing universal cryptocurrency and digital currency payment solutions to the general public without involving merchants, as well as offering enticing points-of-entry for new users into the token ecosystem and the blockchain space. The platform itself consists of three interconnected parts, Plutus Tap & Pay for Android/iOS, the Plutus Debit Card, and the PlutusDEX. Payments can be made both online and offline, wherever regular debit cards are accepted.
The unique value proposition is that over time, all payment channels and points of friction will be decentralized as far as possible to increase liquidity for both spending and purchasing digital currencies and tokens, enabling exchange without central storage of tokens. This is both more robust and secure than previous alternatives. In the near future, purchasing a balance with cash will be explored to introduce new users to crypto.
