Quantum Computing Inc. shares fell Friday as the company prepared to unveil a new quantum security platform in Spain. QUBT stock traded at $8.35, down 1.07%, after a sharp mid-morning decline erased earlier gains. Meanwhile, the company plans to demonstrate its integrated encryption and authentication technology at ECOC Exhibition 2026.
QUBT Stock Slips Ahead of ECOC Security Showcase
Quantum Computing Inc. will present the platform from September 21 through September 23 at FYCMA in Málaga. The company will operate from Booth 1436 and demonstrate several quantum communication technologies during the exhibition. QUBT stock moved lower as the announcement failed to support sustained gains during Friday trading.
The planned showcase combines quantum key distribution with Quantum Identity Authentication through a single security platform. QCi developed the system to secure encryption keys while confirming identities between parties using quantum-based technology. The platform targets two major requirements for secure communications within one telecom-compatible architecture.
Traditional quantum key distribution systems can face high costs, complex operations, and difficulty expanding across larger networks. Many systems also depend on classical authentication methods, which can create separate security requirements during deployment. QCi aims to reduce these barriers through compact equipment that can operate at room temperature.
Quantum Authentication Platform Targets Secure Networks
The system combines high-dimensional quantum key distribution, direct entanglement verification, key management, and Quantum Identity Authentication. QCi bases its authentication technology on patented methods for quantum-secured and privacy-preserving computing. The company has secured patent protection for the technology in the United States and more than 40 countries.
Quantum Identity Authentication also uses QCi’s Quantum Zero-Knowledge Proof technology to verify information without exposing the underlying private data. This approach allows systems to establish trusted identities while reducing dependence on traditional computational authentication methods. QCi sees the technology as another security layer for future quantum communication networks.
The company also designed the platform to support wavelength-multiplexed scaling across several network nodes. That structure could help telecom operators expand quantum-secured communications without relying solely on specialized laboratory equipment. At ECOC, QCi plans live demonstrations using time-frequency and polarization-based quantum communication approaches.
QCi Expands Photonics and Quantum Security Push
QCi will also display flexible quantum instrumentation for measuring, testing, and validating developing quantum technologies. The equipment targets researchers, engineers, and developers working to move quantum concepts toward practical commercial systems. The company will display photonics components used across quantum and advanced optical communications infrastructure.
The ECOC presentation extends QCi’s broader effort to combine quantum technology with semiconductor and photonics manufacturing. Its vertically integrated structure gives the company control over several components required for advanced optical systems. As a result, QCi can develop security products alongside the photonics hardware supporting those platforms.
QCi will also participate in the ECOC Product Focus Theatre on September 23. The presentation will examine quantum-authenticated communications and their potential use across different security applications. Meanwhile, QUBT stock remains lower as the company prepares its first public demonstration of the integrated platform.
