Smart contract system Railgun is poised for success, having just unveiled its technology roadmap for the first half of the year. The plans for the system, outlined in a tweet posted on February 2, point toward a busy and productive first six months of 2022. With a full release slated for the beginning of March, it will be full steam ahead before the project deploys on new blockchains in early summer.
Railgun is a smart contract system for invisible, trustless transfers and private decentralized finance. Crucially, it exists on the primary layer of Ethereum’s already well-established blockchain, as well as on BSC and Polygon. The cutting-edge privacy and anonymity solution allows users to interact directly with decentralized exchanges, lending platforms, and other smart contract applications.
Project contributors recently unveiled their technology roadmap for February-June 2022, outlining all the developments to come.
February 2022: Completion of testing
Already underway, final testing of various aspects of the smart contract system is set for completion ahead of the end of the month. February also marks the publishing of extensive video content explaining the system and its features. Early RAIL adopters will be able to participate in a free minting event for exclusive Railgun Cat NFTs. Throughout the month, an audit will also be underway from the experts at Trail of Bits, ahead of the system’s full release in March.
March 2022: Full Privacy System 1.0 release
This March will mark the full release of the Railgun Privacy System 1.0, complete with mobile apps on both Android and iOS. Beta integration of NFT support will follow, seamlessly incorporating non-fungible tokens into the first version of the revolutionary privacy system. The system’s developers will, at the same time, also deliver full external deployment of their Relayer network. These relayers will act as intermediaries between the platform and its users.
April 2022: Web app upgrade and Matcha integration
Things look set to continue apace in April, starting with a web application upgrade and mobile app parity. NFT support will move out of beta simultaneously, with full Railgun Privacy System 1.0 front-end integration on the cards. The first month of the second quarter will further play host to the addition of decentralized exchange adapters. These adapters will, among other things, allow for external swaps using Railgun via Matcha.
May 2022: Technical documentation incoming
Fast-forward to May, and Railgun users will finally be able to tap into the platform’s private auction functionality for NFTs. With that, early summer will also see the publication of more extensive technical documentation ahead of a busy four weeks or so in June.
June 2022: Crucial testnet deployments follow Railyswap release
The Railgun project’s current technology roadmap concludes in June. As the first half of the year comes to a close, users can look forward to the release of Railyswap, the smart contract system’s proprietary decentralized exchange. The beta launch of Railyswap should also coincide with the platform’s crucial Solana and Polkadot testnet deployments. Expect a new roadmap to appear around this time, detailing the project’s plans for the remainder of 2022.
