The RAY token from Raydium has experienced impressive gains approaching 9% during Thursday’s trading session, building on a 41% upward movement that began over the weekend. Across the past seven days, the digital asset has appreciated by 96.5%, marking its most elevated valuation since the beginning of the year.

This remarkable surge stems from multiple catalysts including innovative product offerings, unprecedented blockchain activity metrics, and an aggressive token repurchase initiative that has decreased available supply.
The Solana-based decentralized exchange has introduced tokenized versions of more than 15 prominent US equities, encompassing companies such as Boeing, Costco, Reddit, Lululemon, and Roblox. These digital representations enable round-the-clock trading via Backpack Securities and Sunrise Protocol. This strategic expansion connects Raydium directly to the expanding real-world asset tokenization movement within cryptocurrency markets.
Market intelligence platform CoinGecko identified the primary factors fueling this momentum. Their analysis reveals that StonkFun has redirected all new token deployments to Raydium LaunchLab, tokenized securities such as Backpack’s Grindr offering now flow through Raydium’s infrastructure, and the protocol executed its most substantial buyback operation on September 9.
Additionally, Pump.fun unveiled “Custom Pairs” functionality, enabling memecoin projects to establish trading pairs against tokenized stocks and alternative assets. This development positions Raydium strategically at the convergence of two dominant trends on Solana: the memecoin phenomenon and real-world asset tokenization.
Unprecedented Token Buyback and Network Expansion
During Wednesday’s session, Raydium executed a buyback operation worth $640,788 in RAY tokens, establishing a new single-day record. The aggregate value of all buyback programs has now reached $2.1 million. These repurchase initiatives decrease the number of tokens in active circulation, potentially supporting price appreciation when market demand maintains consistent levels.

Blockchain metrics validate the heightened activity. Analytics platform Santiment documented 1,074 newly created addresses conducting their initial RAY transfers on Wednesday. According to DeFiLlama’s tracking data, the quantity of SOL deposited on Raydium achieved a record peak of 470,817 tokens, while active wallet addresses reached 162,085 and transaction volume climbed to 3.1 million—both representing monthly records.
During the early portion of the week, Raydium additionally unveiled trading pairs for Bittensor (TAO) and Dogecoin (DOGE), broadening its decentralized finance ecosystem.
