Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse shared good news with the XRP community as the company opened the 10th year of its Ripple Swell conference. He said the event marks the start of a new era for XRP, the XRP Ledger, and Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin.
Garlinghouse posted on X that Ripple was “kicking off 10 years of Ripple Swell with a bang!” This year’s event is the largest Ripple Swell to date.
Treasury Secretary Opens Ripple Swell
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent opened the conference. Garlinghouse said Bessent’s leadership, along with the current administration, has helped responsible crypto thrive in the US.
Bessent told attendees the Treasury could work with the SEC and CFTC to move crypto regulations forward. He said this could happen even though the CLARITY Act failed.
“We are going to win in the digital asset stack,” Bessent said at the event.
The conference follows a recent regulatory step for Ripple. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency granted final approval for Ripple National Trust Bank.
The charter allows Ripple to support RLUSD reserves. It also lets the company offer digital asset custody services to institutions.
“We’ve always said crypto and banks work better together,” Garlinghouse said. “This is what that looks like. Real innovation, real accountability, federal oversight.”
Robinhood and BNY Partnerships Expand
Garlinghouse also pointed to new deals with large financial firms. Ripple is bringing its infrastructure to Robinhood for both customer services and core financial operations.
The deal includes RLUSD settlement on the XRP Ledger, prime brokerage, and treasury operations. RLUSD is already live on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp by Robinhood.
Robinhood plans to use RLUSD on the XRP Ledger for institutional settlement.
Ripple is also expanding its partnership with BNY. The work covers custody and tokenized trade finance using RLUSD, XRP, and the XRP Ledger. BNY plans to broaden its support for tokenized assets and investment products issued on the XRP Ledger.
Separately, Moody’s Ratings gave RLUSD an A2 long-term rating. It also assigned a P-1 short-term rating, the highest short-term rating under its new stablecoin framework.
Conference topics include agentic finance, tokenization, cross-border payments, DeFi, and XRP Ledger use cases. Actor Matt Damon is set to speak about how a clean water organization uses Ripple Payments and RLUSD to speed up cross-border payments.
XRP rose toward $1.35 as the event began. The token now trades at $1.33 after staying in a tight range for several days.
Trading volume rose nearly 20% in the past 24 hours. Some traders see this as buying on the dip.
Crypto analyst Ali Martinez said XRP is rebounding, but $1.25 remains the key level. He said the daily chart shows a possible inverse head-and-shoulders pattern.
If $1.25 holds, Martinez said XRP could move toward $1.55. A daily close above that level could open a path toward $2.10.
