Snap (SNAP) stock rose 2.97% to $5.88 in pre-market trading after closing 1.89% lower at $5.72. The rebound followed Snap’s launch of SPECS Intelligence, a new anticipatory AI service spanning several devices. The platform extends Snap’s push into personal computing, software services, and augmented reality beyond its core social media business.
Snap Expands AI Strategy With SPECS Intelligence
Snap designed SPECS Intelligence to work across iPhone, Mac, and its SPECS augmented reality glasses. The service connects selected applications and uses personal context to organize daily priorities, routines, relationships, and longer-term goals. It can also provide relevant information before meetings, travel plans, deadlines, and other scheduled activities.
The platform includes features called Corners and Goals, which organize different areas of a user’s daily life. Corners can separate work, family, and personal responsibilities, while Goals help users track objectives over longer periods. Consequently, Snap aims to connect immediate tasks with broader priorities through a single software experience.
Users do not need SPECS glasses to access the service because Snap also supports phones and computers. However, the glasses can display relevant information directly within the user’s physical field of view. For example, users can access travel details, reservations, reminders, schedules, and meeting information while wearing SPECS.
Privacy Controls Support Connected Services
Snap said users control which accounts and information they connect with SPECS Intelligence across supported devices. The company also said its personnel cannot access personal content provided through connected accounts. Furthermore, Snap will not use that personal content to train its models or deliver personalized advertisements.
The service combines on-device processing with secure cloud infrastructure to handle connected information and personalized functions. Snap said security measures remain active wherever the platform processes personal data. This structure supports the company’s wider effort to build connected services while maintaining user controls over information access.
Snap has increasingly expanded beyond messaging and social media through augmented reality, hardware, and software development. Its SPECS project represents a broader attempt to place digital information directly within real-world environments. SPECS Intelligence now adds a personal software layer that connects those ambitions across mobile, desktop, and wearable devices.
Early Access Begins Across Mac and iPhone
Snap has opened a waitlist for the full SPECS Intelligence early-access program through its website and SPECS application. The complete early-access service will initially operate through the SPECS Mac application under an invitation-only system. Selected participants will receive access to connect everyday applications and use the broader anticipatory features.
Meanwhile, adults in the United States can download the SPECS iOS application and test a limited preview. Users can connect Google accounts to generate insights from Gmail and Google Calendar activity. However, the mobile preview excludes the wider anticipatory suggestions and actions available through the complete service.
Snap continues developing SPECS as it seeks new growth areas beyond advertising and its Snapchat social platform. The latest release combines personal software, connected services, augmented reality, and cross-device access within one product strategy. Snap stock’s pre-market rebound followed the announcement as the company widened its technology push into personal computing.
